BAXI Manresa, looking to improve and get a new victory
Captain Guillem Jou will miss the game against Casademont Zaragoza, who have made a good start to the league despite the difficulty of their opponents.
After a hard-fought first win at Rio Breogan, BAXI Manresa will be looking for the second at the Nou Congost against Casademont Zaragoza, in a game that will get underway from 18:00 (M+ Deportes 4 and Ràdio Manresa). Guillem Jou, who has missed the last few training sessions due to back problems, will not be available.
Coach Pedro Martínez warns that the game against Aragon will be complicated and will not be decided until the final minutes. The first victory for the Bages team came from Galicia, in an agonising game against Breogán. BAXI Manresa has already broken the ice, but they have to keep improving and winning as soon as possible.
The Aragonese team, coached once again by Porfirio Fisac, have played this week the FIBA Europe Cup qualifiers, which have allowed them to obtain the ticket for the regular season. In the league, they lost to Madrid in their opening game, but on matchday 2, they won a prestigious victory against Unicaja. In a very different team to last season, the most outstanding man is Santi Yusta, the fourth most valued player and third highest scorer in the competition. Two of the new additions also play an important role: Jahlil Okafor (number three in the 2015 NBA draft) and Mark Smith.
Coach Pedro Martínez pointed out that "Zaragoza is a team that last week played a great game against Unicaja scoring almost 100 points; they have qualified for European competition and is a team that is in a very positive dynamic; they have great players like Okafor or Yusta, and they have Sulejmanovic or Gielo, they play great basketball and will make it very difficult for us".
