BAXI Manresa had to work hard to get their third win of the season in the Liga Endesa (92-91). A basket by Musa Sagnia in the final seconds put an end to the resistance of Zunder Palencia who, despite being a debutant team in the ACB that has yet to win, showed a great image at the Nou Congost, competing until the end and being on the verge of springing a surprise.
In the first moments of the duel the game was very level, with constant exchanges of baskets. The reds, in which Pierre Oriola made his debut, were four points ahead (13-9), but the visitors reacted with a 3-13 partial to close the first quarter (16-22).
In the second, the attacks clearly prevailed over the defences, and some very accurate Palencia players reached an eight-point margin. For their part, the home side were always close on the scoreboard and were able to turn it around before the break thanks to a three pointer on the buzzer by Taylor (50-49).
Coming out of the locker room there was a lot of equality, and neither team was able to open a gap in the scoreboard. At the end of the third quarter, the visitors were leading by just one point (70-71), and so everything had to be decided in the final quarter.
In the last quarter, the score remained equal until the final twenty seconds. With 90-91 Dani Perez, who was very unfortunate throughout the game, was able to find Musa Sagnia who scored from deep and gave the victory to his team, as Benite's last shot did not go in.
On Sunday at 17:00 BAXI Manresa will have a difficult trip to the court of a Euroleague team, Valencia Basket.
