BAXI Manresa does not let escape the second victory of the Nou Congost

BAXI Manresa added the second consecutive victory in the Liga Endesa, the first in the Nou Congost, after defeating Casademont Zaragoza in a game in which they were almost all the time ahead but had to work until the end against an opponent that never gave up.

After an even start, the reds, with Dani Pérez effectively leading the team, took the first lead with a 7-0 run. The visitors then reacted and tied the game again. After that, there was an exchange of baskets, reaching the end of the first quarter with a four-point margin for the locals (25-21).

In the second, Pedro Martínez's players dominated and widened the gap to fifteen points (44-29). The Aragonese then rallied and scored nine consecutive points before Dani Pérez closed the first half with a three-pointer to put his team 47-38 up.

Coming back from the locker room, the Manresa team came out with force and went on an 8-0 run, forcing Porfirio Fisac to stop the game. Then came a phase in which both teams were very poor, and this situation favoured a Bages team that closed the third quarter with a clear 61-46.

In the last ten minutes it seemed that the locals would not suffer to get the victory, and Badio made the Nou Congost enjoy with a great dunk. But it was not so, as Casademont Zaragoza fought until the end and forced the reds to work until the end to close the triumph.

On Sunday from 12:30 BAXI Manresa will play again at the Nou Congost, with Zunder Palencia as rival.
