BAXI Manresa added its sixth victory in the Endesa League, the fourth consecutive at the Nou Congost, after defeating Monbus Obradoiro thanks, above all, to a great defense (76-56). The team led by Pedro Martínez played a very collaborative game, dominated from the middle of the first quarter and sealed the last one with a streak of success in the three-point line.
The game started with many inaccuracies on the part of both teams. The Galicians dominated the first moments, but then both Dani García and Valtonen appeared, allowing their team to turn the score around and close the first quarter with a four-point lead (17-13).
In the second the reds showed a great defensive level, which allowed them to score twelve consecutive points to open a gap on the scoreboard in a duel that until then had been very close. At halftime, the locals led by twelve points (37-25).
In the second half there was equality in the game. The visitors tried to get closer on the scoreboard, but the team from Manresa always found an answer to the rival baskets. In this way, the third quarter ended with an eleven-point margin for the Bages team (50-39).
In the last ten minutes, Obradoiro did not give up and went 1-6, but three consecutive three-pointers once again sparked off the home team who continued to defend at a high level and were able to enjoy with the fans that filled the Nou Congost a final of quiet game and, ultimately, victory.
On Sunday starting at 5:00 p.m. BAXI Manresa will visit the complicated court of a Euroleague team, Chima Moneke's Baskonia.
