BAXI Manresa was unable to add its seventh victory of the season in the Endesa League, falling on the difficult court of Surne Bilbao Basket in a game in which they were trailing from the beginning (88-73).
The team led by Jaume Ponsarnau got off to a good start and scored the first six points of the match in a start in which the defences clearly prevailed over the attacks. The Basques clearly dominated the first quarter and reached the end with a twelve-point lead (27-15).
In the second period, Diego Ocampo's men, despite not stopping fighting, were always trailing behind the locals who, led by Frey, did not let up. At half-time of the match, Bilbao led by eight points (44-36).
Coming back from the changing rooms the tone did not change much and the men in black, now with Dragic as their reference, continued to widen the gap and closed the third quarter with a twenty-point difference (73-53).
In the last ten minutes Saint-Supéry put the team on their backs and led a reaction that placed the team from Manresa only eleven points behind (82-71). However, it was already too late and the Basques did not suffer to add the victory and thus end their negative streak.
On Sunday from 17:00 BAXI Manresa will play the last game of 2024 at the Nou Congost against a Euroleague team, Chima Moneke's Baskonia.
