BAXI Manresa was crowned runner-up in the Catalan League after losing the final against Barça in Tarragona, in a match that was decided in the third quarter (98-81).
Diego Ocampo's team made a great start, with a partial score of 2-9, and stayed ahead during most of the first quarter. However, the blue and red team, who were very accurate in their three-point attempts (they scored five of their ten attempts), came back and closed the period with a five-point lead (25-20).
In the second quarter, the game was very even. Joan Peñarroya's players dominated the scoreboard but always within short distances, against the Manresans led by Alston Jr. At half time, Barça had a slight advantage (45-41).
Coming back from the locker room, the Blaugrana showed everything their potential and were superior to the Bages team, who could do nothing to stop them. At the end of the third quarter, Peñarroya's men had the match well underway (73-56).
The last ten minutes did not have much history, since Barça was solid and did not let the team from Manresa get into the game at any time. The final moments served to allow both teams to continue getting ready for the start of the season.
On Thursday at 20:00 BAXI Manresa will play last pre-season match against Hiopos Lleida, at the Manel Bosch municipal pavilion in Torrefarrera.
