BAXI Manresa starts the pre-season in Sant Julià
The Bages team face Bàsquet Girona in a duel where the first signs of the team's identity could be seen.

BAXI Manresa 2024-25 started the preseason with a clear victory against Bàsquet Girona (100-68) in the first of the two games that the team will play in Sant Julià de Vilatorta. The Bages team, with injuries in their squad, showed a good image and were ahead throughout the game.
The players led by Diego Ocampo made a good start, with a lot of defensive intensity, which allowed them to score an initial partial of 9-2, after which Katsikaris had to stop the game. The Girona team reacted immediately and gradually got closer to the scoreboard until they were only three points behind at the end of the first quarter (16-13).
In the second, the Manresa team stepped on the gas again and extended their lead to fifteen points (40-25). However, Girona closed the gap again, and with a three-pointer in the final seconds they managed to reach the break with only a six-point deficit (42-36).
Coming back from the locker room, the Bages team performed again a strong start and showed themselves superior to their rival. This allowed them to open up a bigger and bigger gap, and at the end of the third quarter Diego Ocampo's men had the match well underway (72-51).
The last ten minutes there was not much of a story in terms of results, as the team from Manresa did not let up and did not give the team from Girona any chance to get into the game. This period served both teams to get into the rhythm of the competition and to get their squads together.
The next pre-season test will be against a more difficult rival, Valencia Basket of Pedro Martínez and Brancou Badio. The match will start on Saturday from 20:00, also in Sant Julià.
