BAXI Manresa was strong in the Nou Congost and obtained the second victory of the season in the Endesa League after defeating a Dreamland Gran Canaria that arrived undefeated (79-58). After a first quarter full of alternatives, the Bages team took the lead in the middle of the second quarter and they didn't let her go until the end.
The match started with a rather slow pace and many changes in the scoreboard. After an initial triple by Dani Pérez, the visitors scored seven points in a row. Then, a 5-0 run put the reds back in front. Three free throws scored by Homesley put the Canaries two points ahead at the end of the first quarter (17-19).
In the second, two initial baskets by the islanders put them six points ahead (17-23), but then Diego Ocampo's men reacted and scored a 12-0 run that allowed them to go into the match with a ten-point margin at half-time (40-30).
In the second half, the home team clearly dominated and reached a maximum 21-point difference (60-39). Six consecutive points from Jaka Lakovic's team, the last coming from a final triple from Kljajic, narrowed the gap at the end of the third quarter (60-45).
In the last ten minutes, the Bages team did not let up and did not let their rival get dangerously close on the scoreboard at any time. In this way, the fans present at the Nou Congost were able to enjoy the team and celebrate the second victory in the Endesa League.
On Tuesday from 20:30 BAXI Manresa will play the second day of the Basketball Champions League on the difficult court from the Italian Bertram Derthona Tortona.
