BAXI Manresa was unable to get its first away win in the Endesa League, as it fell on the difficult court of La Laguna Tenerife (94-86). The Canaries dominated from the start, but the Bages team never gave up and fought until the end against their powerful rival.
The players led by Txus Vidorreta started the match better and scored a 14-0 run to open the first gap on the scoreboard (16-4). Immediately after, the visitors, led by Obasohan, reacted and came within just three points at the end of the first quarter (27-24).
In the first minutes of the second quarter there was equality, until eight consecutive points allowed the islanders to escape again and reach the half of the match twelve points ahead on the scoreboard (48-36).
Returning from the locker room, Diego Ocampo's men tried to get closer on the scoreboard, but in front of them they had a rival who took advantage of their high shooting accuracy to increase the lead and leave it at sixteen at the end of the third quarter (75-59).
In the last period, the Bages team did not give up and put fear into the locals, as they were only six points behind with just over two minutes left to play (86-80). However, the Canaries were solid and managed to seal a new victory in their stadium.
After the break due to the FIBA windows, BAXI Manresa will return to the Endesa League at the Nou Congost with a new Catalan derby. It will be on Sunday, December 1st from 12:30 and the rival will be one of the best teams in Europe, Joan Peñarroya's Barça.
