BAXI Manresa once again celebrated a victory at the Nou Congost, the fourteenth in the Endesa League, after beating one of the best teams in the competition, Dreamland Gran Canaria (78-71). The Bages team dominated from the beginning and were able to control their rival at all times.
Both teams started the match with a lot of mistakes in front of the basket, but then they began to get into tune, especially some Reds who dominated the scoreboard with short leads and who closed the first quarter with four points of advantage (20-16).
In the second, the players led by Pedro Martínez opened more gaps thanks to the success of Geben and Robinson, while the islanders survived based on their effectiveness in free throws. In the middle part of the confrontation, the Manresa team dominated by nine points (41-32).
Returning from the locker room, the visitors came out strong and were within one point (43-42), but then Badio appeared to lead a new favorable quarter, which led the Bages team to close the third quarter with eleven points of advantage (63-52).
In the last ten minutes the Reds did not get nervous and knew how to manage the difference at all times against their powerful rival, who could not get dangerously close. In the last possessions, Nou Congost was able to celebrate the fourteenth victory of the season.
On Saturday starting at 6:00 p.m., BAXI Manresa will play a new Catalan derby, this time on the Bàsquet Girona court.
