BAXI Manresa is condemned to failure in Reggio Emilia

Bages' men are unable to find the continuity to fight for victory. A good start to the match but too many mistakes against a more in-form Reggio Emilia.

BAXI Manresa could not take the victory on the Pallacanestro Reggiana court on the third day of the Top16 of the Basketball Champions League. The Bages team dominated the first half, but in the second the Italians were more accurate and added their second victory.

The players directed by Diego Ocampo started the duel with rhythm and immediately took control of the match but always with short distances. An additional triple scored by Vescovi allowed the reds to close the first quarter with a four-point lead (19-23).

In the second period the Manresans were irregular. First they extended the lead to eight points (19-27), but immediately the locals nailed a partial of 8-0 and tied the score. From then on, there was a lot of equality until the last seconds, when Barford nailed a triple at the limit (41-38).

Coming back from the locker room, the Italians were very accurate from the free throw line and took the initiative on the scoreboard against the Bages team, who stayed close until the last moments of the third quarter, when two consecutive three-pointers left the game in a very good position for Reggiana (65-51).

In the last ten minutes, the visitors did not give up and came within just six points (70-64), but they were unable to find the necessary accuracy to get even closer and the locals took advantage to extend the lead to the final fifteen points (85-70).

On Sunday, from 12:30, the Endesa League returns to the Nou Congost with the visit of Leyma Coruña, led by Brandon Taylor and Álex Hernández.
