BAXI Manresa achieved another victory at the Nou Congost, this time against the visit of Surne Bilbao Basket (89-74) in a duel in which Bages' team was ahead for the majority of the game and was able to finish it off in the final minutes.
After a start with an exchange of baskets and the attacks imposing themselves on the defenses, Diego Ocampo's players nailed a partial of 9-0 and took control of the scoreboard to reach the end of the first quarter with a five-point margin (28-23).
In the second quarter, the pace of play was slower, and the Reds knew how to take advantage of this to keep their distance on the scoreboard against the Basques who lost Jaume Ponsarnau, who was disqualified. At half-time, the home team was ten points ahead (44-34).
Coming back from the changing rooms, the men in black were still close, and a 0-8 run brought them within just three points (57-54). However, the team from Manresa opened up a gap again and closed the third quarter with an eleven-point difference (69-58).
In the last ten minutes, Bilbao tried to get closer again, but the team from Bages were very solid and, thanks to a very inspired Obasohan, they reached the end of the match with the victory, their twelfth of the season in the Endesa League, in the bag.
On Friday from 18:30 BAXI Manresa will play the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey in Gran Canaria against one of the favourites, Real Madrid.
