A magical day: the reunion of the 1998 champions

The 1997-1998 Bàsquet Manresa squad met again and attended the reception at the Town Hall, the brotherhood lunch, the "Fan zone" and the tribute at halftime of the game against Valencia Basket.

Sunday was a day to remember for Bàsquet Manresa, with the central acts of the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the League won by TDK in 1998, in which a large part of the squad that became champions attended.

The event got underway at the City Hall of the capital of Bages, where there was a reception for the then TDK Manresa team. The mayor of the city, Marc Aloy, the sports councillor, Toni Massegú, the president of Bàsquet Manresa, Jordi Serracanta, the team captain, Jordi Singla, and the then president of the entity, Valentí Junyent, spoke at the town hall.

Next, the attendees went to the Cau del Ateneu restaurant, where a fellowship meal was held in a standing snack format. Subsequently, the president of the Catalan Basketball Federation, Ferran Aril, presented a commemorative plaque to Jordi Serracanta.

The events then moved to a Complex Vell Congost that housed the "Fan zone". In it, the fans were able to take photos with the players of the time and with the trophy, as well as enjoying again the final match against Baskonia. Then all the players present spoke, the coach Luis Casimiro, who sent a video, and the second coach Xavi Rodríguez.

Finally, the 1998 squad received a tribute from the Nou Congost halfway through the match between BAXI Manresa and Valencia Basket, in a match that ended with an important victory for a local team that wore a shirt inspired by the champion TDK.
